Level 10 - The Citadel

Let's dim the light down a bit. This level is relatively small in size, but it provides the most intense mood, showing rain and thunder, and caused by the funny warped houses it lets you easily forget about the next-yard-next-wave-of-enemies scheme that may have overcome you in some of the previous levels. And, the impressive number of sixteen secrets is scattered around in this level! Enjoy it!

Midnight Mega Secret - Timing Makes a Difference

Depending on how fast you make your way through this level, most propably somewhere within the first yards the bells will ring 12 times, enabling the midnight mega secret in a house some yards away. This is bad news. If you haven't made it through all the yards and rooms in time, there's no way (except using a cheat, which doesn't count as a secret) to get into the secret house. See below.

Secret 1 - Secret Weapon

From the starting point enter the door of the second house on the left to get the double riffle.

Secret 2 - Secret K.O. Glove

After having survived the kill-o-mats, you find this switch.

Stand beside it, pull it and let the K.O. glove work for you.

Secret 3 - Secret Health

Passing the bridge, behind the tower that gives you the flamethrower, find this secret health.

Secret 4 - Secret Ammo

In the entrance yard of the castle in the far right corner, grab some rockets.

Secret 5 - Secret Ammo

In the same yard, grab some sniper ammo behind this house between the entrance and the gate to the right.

Secret 6 - Secret Croteam Graveyard

Entering the yard to the right, you find the secret croteam graveyard. You may open the graves and free some friends.

Secret 7 - Secret Jumping Plant Mutant

In the yard opposite to the one with the graveyard, grab the three napalm packs behind and next to the tree on the far side. The tree in front of the ammo converts to a jumping plant that jumps at you as soon as you kill the bio mechs and the kamikazes that spawn when you've taken the three napalm packs.

Secret 8 - Secret Ammo

Two yards further (exit is relative to entrance on the right side), left to the entrance behind the three houses you find a phone booth and some secret rockets.

Secret 9 - Secret Power Up

In the same yard as the secret ammo before, you find an invulerability power up when you jump over the stone between the house left to the exit doors and the barrels left to it.

Secret 10 - Secret Health

Before using the weels to get to the outside, jump into the water here, dive down, turn 180°, and then turn left to get a secret health.

The Clock

When having climbed through the wheels, you can jump outside. Above you, you now see the clock that rang the midnight bells.

Tips & Tricks

Climbing outside is a bit tedious, but CozMoDan found this trick: You can use the chain saw to bust up the barrels and get a Greek teleport to go outside.

Secret 11 - Secret Midnight

These bells open the door of the first house of the yard on the left hand side. If you came here in time, enter the door to activate the midnight secret. You'll get the minigun, ammo in a backpack, shield, invulnerability, serious damage and a super health. Then, enjoy the party. If you're late, you may want to cheat or wait some hours.

Tips & Tricks

Nobuhiko Yoshida and TheBeagle reported that you can still get the serious damage and the secret count even if you're late for the midnight bells. Nobuhiko writes: there is a serious damage behind the house right to the exit (big picture below), which has also a midnight secret entrance. Behind the house, it seems that there is only a health potion. But, in fact, in the dark corner there is an invisible serious damage where the crdoss-hair is in the picture-in-picture.

Rick Young reports that he opened the door with a number of rockets: "I've found another way to get the Secret Midnight in the Citadel level. Playing on normal difficulty, I can send 10 rockets knocking on the door and it blows open to get all of the goodies."

Secret 12 - Secret Armor

Before exiting this yard, don't miss the secret armor behind the house on the right side of the exit doors.

Secret 13 - Secret Ammo

Now you reach the last yard on this side with the castle entrance. Left to the yard's entrance you find some sniper bullets behind the house.

Secret 14 - Secret Armor

Then, get to the other end of the yard, and get this armor to survive your enemies.

Secret 15 - Secret Health

Inside the castle, in one room there is no other choice than jumping into a hole and using a slide that brings you to a pool under the castle. In this pool you find some ammo and this secret health.

Strategy

Exiting the cave you reach this room with a number of crushers. The wheels of this kill-o-mat can be blasted.

Secret 16 - Secret Armor

In the last small yard of the level, you can destroy the ton in the corner to the right to get a secret armor.
